- The Government Relations Unit has a fundamental role in the security administration as it works to review all the security services, including police, traffic, immigration, the prison authority and others in order to follow up any cases in which one of the university employees is involved. This unit works with great efforts that contribute to strengthening the university's relationship with the authorities Foreign Affairs and highlighting the university as one of the most important features of the Eastern Region

The audit and follow-up unit providing security services to university employees, schools and companies contracting with the university, whether for research or service projects, by issuing permits to enter the university campus and accompanying it according to the relevant regulations.
- Carrying out all the tasks of correspondence, preparing reports, maintaining order, and upgrading the level of discipline within the university by spreading awareness to reduce the occurrence of traffic and behavioral accidents.
- Follow-up of violations according to the readiness of the security men by providing the necessary needs and their special courses, periodically reviewing the objectives and strategies of the administration and making the necessary adjustments to ensure quality and following up the information with the various departments of the university.
- Keeping of recent developments in raising readiness, improving effective security measures, and seeking leadership in raising the level of security and safety within the university campus.

Security Patrol Unit
It aims to implement all plans and implementation of programs, regulations and preventive measures adopted by the Kingdom in general and the university in particular to prevent accidents (traffic and security) for soul’s safety and property.

Investigation Unit
The Investigation Unit provides the KFUPM community with the highest quality of service, the unite investigates all the types of crimes reported to the Security Department.

The investigation entitled a number of actions including :

1-Examining and securing all physical evidence
2- Interviewing witnesses
3-Follow up investigations for University criminal records
Typical crimes include :

- Robbery
- Domestic violence
- Burglary

Buildings and Gates Unit
- The mission of the Buildings and Colleges Security Unit is to apply all the plans, programs, regulations and preventive measures of the university to all academic and administrative buildings and student housing by providing security for university employees, visitors, senior guests and delegations participating in events and conferences.
- Upgrading the level of discipline within the academic and administrative buildings by applying the rules of security, health and safety.
- Providing security services to the various university departments and participating in emergency evacuation plans.
- Truth-finding unit, truth-seeking and forecasting of potential risks before they occur, to protect the university community and create a permanent awareness among the public of the security issues and risks that revolve around it by using all legitimate and available means with complete confidentiality while preserving the freedoms and privacy of individuals in their persons, places of residence and private lives in general in order to ensure investigation Truth.

Gate Security Unit:
The university has five main gates, which are:
- Gate number (one) for university employees and visitors.
- The northern gate number (two) for university employees and trucks.
- Gate number (three) for family housing, members of the faculty and staff
- Gate number (four) for schools’ employees and students.
- The beach gate for university employees only.
The task of gate security is to monitor the entrances and exits of the University City, receive visitors and welcome them in a manner appropriate to represent the university, as well as help visitors reach the place they need easily, issuing permits for visitors and record their data in the system.

Three units fall under this administration, which are:

Operations Center (Areen 2).
- Receiving reports, supporting field men, and communicating with external security agencies.
- Monitor the level of security and rapid intervention to deal with security incidents and emergencies.
- Security men were able to carry out their tasks using modern technologies with high quality and in record time.

Security Systems Unit.
Its mission is to supervise the operation of a number of security automation programs and ensure their quality and ease of use by service users.

Data analysis unit.
- Automation of business and facilitation of procedures and a comprehensive digital transformation.
- Provide information and help in making decisions.
- Predict security incidents before they happen.
- The application of international standards in security management.
